NewsButler: An intelligent, personalized news engine for consumer engagement

Today’s news consumers expect personalized content recommendations. This personalization is based on algorithms that predict what a user is most likely to click on. This NewsButler project will develop a ‘content recommendation engine’ that helps readers of the RMG news brands create a personalized, user-controlled news experience. The consortium members is a multidisciplinary team of Industry partners (Bothrs, ML6 – Skyhaus, Roularta Media Group) and research partners (Imec – ITEC – KUL, Imec – SMIT – VUB).

 

NewsTAPAS: From news personalisation towards news individualisation

NewsTAPAS aims to increase engagement with RMG news brands by offering readers a unique, personalised and individual reading experience. To this end, RMG is developing a 'content adaptation engine'. This technology will be able to automatically adapt the personalised news articles to a format (with respect to both form and content) based on users’ interests, needs and context (device, time, location, etc.). Roularta Media Group is collaborating with VRT, ML2grow, Imec –SMIT – VUB and Imec - IDLab - UGent.
